Additionally, you mentioned you'll need to upgrade the software of your Mac to use the Beats Updater, and you're curious if there's other troubleshooting steps available. Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! I understand your Powerbeats3 isn't connecting with your devices any longer, and you'd like to update the firmware to troubleshoot the issue. What do you think? THANK YOU SO MUCH! I appreciate any tips or tricks to figuring this out since I cant get into an apple store or best buy due to the pandemic. So my questions are, is there any other way that I can fix my headphones without going through all this hoopla of updating my computer and downloading there beats updater? OR if I do need to just update my computer, is it safe to update to the mojave 10.14.6 from the el capitan 10.11.6? I am just hesitant because my computer doesn't seem to recognize that I need an update and maybe thats a warning that my computer cant adjust to this update. I noticed that I can manually download updates from the apple website and was considering upgrading to the Mojave 10.14.6. When I go to check for updates my computer doesn't recognize that I need an update. If I click on "about this mac" it says I have the OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. I have an older macbook but I don't know the year, I think i got this computer 4 or 5 years ago. I went to download the updater from the website and it says it cant download because my computer software needed to be at version 10.13 or later. I didn't know that you could update these headphones so I want to try this. So then someone recommended that I update them using the beats updater from the beats website. They are fully charged, I have reset them (in 2 different ways I saw on youtube), I "forgot this device" from my bluetooth list on my phone hoping to repair it (which I now cant even get my phone to recognize them) etc. From that point on I have never been able to connect them to my phone (or any device) again. That was the only time I have had an issue and the last time that they worked. It took about a minute for my phone to recognize the headphones again and I was able to continue listening to music without an issue. I wasn't even moving, I was sitting in my room, there should be no reason for them to cut out because my phone was completely in range. About a month ago I was listening to music from my iPhone Xs and the music randomly cut out as if it lost connection. So I have a pair of wireless powerbeats 3 that I got in December of 2018 and they have always worked great and have given me no issues. This will probably be a little long but I really appreciate anyone who reads through this and gives possible solutions, I am desperate.
